The "washing serum," "All-in-one Shampoo Bar KIYOME," is made with carefully selected high-quality ingredients that CHANT is proud to recommend, saying, "We can't improve on this anymore!"
I would like to explain the effects and ingredients of KIYOME's beauty ingredients, starting with "aged sake lees extract," as well as four beauty oils such as argan oil.
We hope that by learning about the ingredients, you will gain a deeper appreciation for the power that KIYOME possesses.

Aged Sake Lees Extract

The aged sake lees extract used in KIYOME is simply amazing!
When I first encountered this ingredient, I was truly moved.

Aged sake lees extract is
- Seriously developed by Watara Honsha, a company with over 400 years of history in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture
- Its effects, such as improved skin elasticity, whitening, and hair damage repair, have been proven through experiments.
- Sake lees are fermented in two stages using an aging method with organic certification.
In addition to reliable experimental data, the hands of the toji (sake brewers) involved in sake brewing are enviably white, moist, and smooth.

Below, we will explain each beauty effect based on data.
Improved skin moisture and elasticity
In the following image, the ingredient written as "KOHAKUYUKI" is the aged sake lees extract used in KIYOME.

The data shows that aged sake lees extract suppresses dryness after washing and increases skin elasticity after washing.
As a result, it leads to the effect of suppressing skin dryness and tightness after washing, resulting in a plump finish.
*Test Method
The back of the hand was washed with a facial cleanser containing aged sake lees extract (wash for 30 seconds, rinse for 15 seconds). Skin moisture content was measured over time after lightly wiping. In addition, skin elasticity levels were measured 5 minutes after washing under the same conditions.
Whitening Effect

The table above confirmed that aged sake lees extract has a melanin production inhibitory effect.
It is expected to suppress melanin production, which causes spots and dullness, leading to clear skin.
*Test Method
Each sample was added to melanin-producing cells and cultured for 72 hours, then melanin production rate was calculated by absorbance measurement.
Regulating skin barrier function

Above, regarding skin barrier and moisture, the following were confirmed to increase:
- Filaggrin
- Hyaluronic acid synthase
- Gene expression levels of ceramide-producing enzymes
Therefore, it is expected to regulate the skin's natural barrier function and moisturizing ability from within the skin.
*Test Method
A medium containing 1% aged sake lees extract was added to human epidermal keratinocytes and cultured for 48 hours, after which gene expression levels were analyzed by real-time PCR.

Furthermore, regarding skin barrier and recovery, by applying aged sake lees extract to areas of rough skin, the dry areas of the skin (white parts in the image) became less noticeable, and the skin was confirmed to be smoother.
Also, the skin barrier function was confirmed to recover more rapidly compared to the control.
*Test Method
Skin roughness was created by tape stripping and acetone treatment. The appearance was observed after applying aged sake lees extract continuously for 3 days. At that time, transepidermal water loss (TEWL) was measured, and skin barrier recovery was calculated from the results.
Damage hair repair

KIYOME, which can wash your entire body, is also recommended for hair care.
As shown in the image, there was a difference before and after applying aged sake lees extract.
*Test Method
For hair, damaged hair was observed with SEM. After applying aged sake lees extract to the damaged hair and observing it again with SEM, the repair effect shown in the image above was observed.
Hair damage prevention

In addition to repair, aged sake lees extract is also effective for already damaged hair.
*Test Method
Damaged hair was washed with a control (1% SDS solution) or a washing solution containing 1% aged sake lees extract in the control, towel-dried, and then blow-dried. This was repeated 10 times and observed with an electron microscope (SEM).
Aged manufacturing method with organic certification

The aged sake lees extract is so committed to "aging" that it can be explicitly called "aged."
