I had the opportunity to speak with someone from "Watara Honke," a sake brewery in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture, and became interested in the beauty extract they were developing.

Since I usually make my own cosmetics, I received a sample to try it as an ingredient.

The moment I took the "aged sake lees extract," which was created by harmonizing traditional fermented ingredients and science, and applied it, I was surprised by its moisturizing power, exclaiming, "W-what is this!?"

I remember my heart racing, thinking, "This is so much better than high-end brand serums!"

Experiencing the beauty effects myself

As a result of continuously using the sample of "aged sake lees extract" myself:

• Sagging pores significantly improved.
• Skin irritation recovered quickly.
• My thin, flat hair became voluminous.

Development of KIYOME

Around this time, after going through a period where just living was a struggle, I had completely lost confidence in myself as a woman.

At that moment, I felt as if God had handed me this ingredient with a message, "Use this to make a shampoo bar," due to such a mysterious connection.

"I have to make it!"

Full of passion, I started developing KIYOME.

Although I had initially considered "aged sake lees extract" for homemade cosmetics, at this point, the desire to create a "shampoo bar" had taken over.

Trial and error with over 100 samples

As an ingredient to combine with "aged sake lees extract," using the highest quality argan oil was essential.

I have been using it myself for many years, and its beauty effects are undeniable.

Before KIYOME was completed, I created over 100 samples.

I was confident in the chosen ingredients, but adjusting the formulation, pH, and static electricity was a bit of a challenge.

Maximizing the effects of aged sake lees extract

Although I am a beauty enthusiast to an extent that others find unusual, when it came to commercializing the product, I proceeded with development alongside a specialist cosmetics factory for details such as formulation, pH, and static electricity treatment.

After much trial and error to determine which ingredients would be most compatible and how to maximize the beauty effects, the result was the creation of

As I prepared for the launch of KIYOME, I pondered how to convey its amazing qualities.

The expression that felt most fitting, based on my own experience of using it since the development stage, was

Indeed, this tagline perfectly captures the effects I've felt.
