Solotune development philosophy

Achieving the depth of perfume with only natural essential oils.
The passion behind Solotune's development

Solotune is not a roll-on perfume created just to achieve a "good scent."
It is a fragrance designed to gently attune yourself to your mood and condition each day.
We call it a Self-Tuning Oil Perfume.

When you think of perfume, you might imagine it as something to make a good impression on others, something to wear for the outside world. However, Solotune aimed for a slightly different approach to fragrance.

It's not about what others think, but about how you want to be.
In the morning, you want to open your heart.
At night, you want to unwind tense nerves.
You want to let go of unnecessary things.
You want your inner flower to bloom.
You want to cleanse and deeply attune yourself.

Solotune was born to accompany these small daily shifts in your state.

Tune yourself with fragrance.

Gently embracing delicate sensitivities

What we valued in Solotune was not just "being beautiful as a fragrance."

Instead of changing your mood with a strong scent, we wanted a fragrance that would gently embrace and soothe those who try too hard, those who are easily tired due to sharp senses, and those who perceive daily stimuli more deeply than others.

Sound, light, human presence, changes in the air, unspoken emotions. Even in our everyday lives, our nerves can become tense without us realizing it.

That's why Solotune considers fragrance not as "something to show to others," but as a small tool for attuning your own state.

In your busy daily life, apply a single swipe to your wrist.
Inhale the fragrance deeply.
Even for that one moment, you can return to your own senses.

If we can bring even a little reassurance, confidence, and breathing room to the daily lives of those with sharp sensitivities.

With such thoughts, we create Solotune's fragrances.

The difficulty of creating perfume with only natural essential oils

The most challenging aspect of creating Solotune's fragrances was creating scents with "cohesion," "harmony," and "depth" using only natural essential oils.

Each essential oil is highly individual. Citrus notes rise lightly, flowers spread softly, resins linger deeply, and woods and leaves create an atmospheric quality. However, mixing many of them does not necessarily create a beautiful scent. Even a slight mistake in blending can quickly make the fragrance messy.

Instead of a scent that is immediately recognizable, like "this is lavender," we wanted to create a scent with a kind of inclusivity where you might not know what it is, but it just "feels right." We searched for a point where the individual characteristics of the scents could remain while coalescing into a single atmospheric whole.

Solotune was created through repeated adjustments, trying to perfect everything from the initial impression upon smelling, to the changes on the skin, and the lingering afterglow.

Designing scents with top, middle, and base notes

In Solotune, we consider the flow of top, middle, and base notes for all fragrances.

The top note is the initial entry point that moves the heart.
The middle note is the core of the scent's expression and emotion.
The base note lingers on the skin, a quiet, continuing afterglow.

Compared to synthetic fragrances, essential oils are more challenging to use to create lasting and diffusive scents. That's why we prioritized discerning the role of each essential oil.

Scents that attune through sensation

It is said that scent reaches the brain in 0.2 seconds, and essential oils have a long history of being used for mood changes and relaxation.

There's a sense that our bodies react to scent before words can even describe it, isn't there?

Scent is not something that strongly changes you,
but a quiet signal to return to your true self.

Ensuring the 5 scents do not overlap

In Solotune, each fragrance is designed not to overlap on the scent map. If all five were to lean towards "relaxation" or "freshness," the meaning of choosing between them would diminish.

Scent Role Scent Profile
HIRAKU Letting the breeze through your chest, opening your heart Japanese citrus, green leaves, transparent spice, cool forest
SAKI Your inner flower quietly blooming Citrus, floral, soft sweetness
KARA Letting go of unnecessary things, returning to emptiness Resin, forest, stillness
KIYOME Cleansing, deeply attuning Sandalwood, chamomile, pure mint
YURUM Unwinding tense nerves Botanical milk honey, lingering skin scent

Each fragrance isn't just about using different essential oils. They are designed so that differences in mood and state are naturally conveyed through the scent's impression.

The world view encapsulated in the white marble packaging

Solotune's packaging evokes a quiet presence, like white marble.

Not strong colors or excessive ornamentation, but white with space.
A quiet presence that doesn't impose emotions.
A minimalist beauty that makes you want to gently pick it up every day.

The fragrance itself is the same. It's not meant to make a flamboyant statement, but to be used gently to attune your state when needed.

It's not a perfume to adorn the outside, but a fragrance to attune the inside. This world view is embedded in both the packaging and the scent.

What Solotune wants to deliver

In our busy daily lives, we surprisingly have little time to feel our own state.

Am I tired?
Am I tense?
Do I want to move forward?
Do I want to rest?
Do I want to become empty for a moment?

Solotune is a fragrance that helps you notice these small inner voices.

Apply a swipe to your wrist, inhale the scent.
Just that can slightly change your breathing.
It can change your emotional direction.
You can choose your state anew.

Especially for those who are sensitive, delicate, or tend to overexert themselves, fragrance can be a very small, yet reliable tool.

Just a little reassurance.
Just a little confidence.
Just a little breathing room.

These are the small changes Solotune wants to deliver.

Solotune, built with multiple layers of natural essential oils, aims for harmony and depth as a perfume. It is not a fragrance to wear for others, but a scent to return to your true self.

Choosing the fragrance you need today.
It might become a small habit for treating yourself with care.
